Above the Mean:

Strengthening youth relationships

ARMS youth division - Above the Mean - gives presentations to church or school youth groups.

Interactive, exciting games are always part of the presentations. We also use videos of youth talking about their experiences as well as clips from pop culture.

If you'd like to any of the following presentations to your youth group or school, please contact Matt at 503-846-9284 or toll-free outside the Portland metro area at 866-262-9284. You may also email arms@sterling.net.

Rambo vs. Barbie: Does God Have a Better Idea?

  • To begin a discussion of discussion on what society believes is true about "real men" and "real women," youth play a game where the value of certain items is guessed at - a Rambo action figure, a pink apron, etc.
  • Then teens view and discuss a short clip of popular tv show. One character is shocked to meet a man who wants to be a nanny.
  • Finally, the presenter walks teens through Scripture on how God wants ALL his people to be - merciful, tender, patient.

It's an effective way to help teens reflect on how society's views of "real men" and "real women" may interfere with healthy relationships.
